I put the new Airshow 2008 website up today, for those who haven't seen it.  http://www.planesoffame.org/airshows.php
The theme this year is "Wings of the Silver Screen".

Best looking airshow web site anywhere!  Afro  Really captures the mood and quality of the event.

Media day was today... nice to see a bunch of familiar faces out there!  Hope everyone got good shots despite the bumpy weather.  The random lighting changes played havoc on my exposures and white balance.  But when the sun came out, I got that vivid color I typically get!
See you all in just a little over a week! And REMEMBER - online advance discount tickets come down SUNDAY NIGHT.  If you want to save a few bucks, order your tickets ASAP!

My shots will probably wind up in calendars eventually... but for sure they'll be used for Planes of Fame promotional stock (newsletters, brochures, etc) and heavily on the POF website.

Mine usually end up in Flightpath magazine in Australia (last year they ran a 4-page piece of mine on the 3 P-38s at Chino show) plus in the past year I've had stuff published in Aeroplane Monthly (UK), Le Fana de l'Aviation (France) and Classic Wings (New Zealand)

Update - F/A-18C Hornets are no longer coming to Chino this year due to scheduling conflicts.  Long story.  And of course, because of his crash, Rob Harrison will not be at the show.  Steve Hinton will be doing Bearcat aerobatics in place of Rob.  F-16C Vipers arrived Thursday at Chino doing some NICE passes and breaks right above the field.  The museum's newley restored TBM Avenger is out on the ramp looking gorgeous in her new pain scheme.  It was BLISTERINGLY hot out there today, with some very dry heavy winds (with wind sheer at 29 knots) that was creating havoc for all us volunteers.

You mean it's in a very shiny black scheme?    Huh

That certainly would be a pain!    Evil

All four of the Corsairs are at the museum :-)  And they look amazing together!  B-17 'Fuddy Duddy' is there as well.  Not as many performing aircraft as past years, lots of cancellations.  But should still be a great show, provided the winds die down.  The airport had gusts up to 29+ knots today.  Not good... keep hoping for a break in the wind or not much will be able to fly :-(
