For folks that have attended before, there are different levels of tickets one can buy for the show.  In terms of access/parking/placement is there any advantage in going for the more expensive tickets?

Thanks,

Hey Pablo;

If you want to enjoy the airshow in style, I would recommend the President's Club or the Executive Club. These are located along chalet row, are in close proximity to show centre, and offer a great view of the action in a garden-style hospitality area.  Each club offers something a bit different, but for both, you have the advantage entering the airfield along a route seperate from general admission as well as exlusive parking located close to the chalets.

Here's a quick run-down of what each offers:

The President's Club

  • Priority VIP access
Parking close to the President's Club
    Hosted tables
Fully catered gourmet breakfast and lunch
    Full bar service
Recognition as a President's Club Member in the Airshow Souvenir Program (if purchased before May 31)
An opportunity to meet visiting Performers
    Complimentary Airshow Souvenir Program
Washroom facilities for President's Club Members

The Executive Club

  • Priority VIP access
Parking close to the Executive Club
    A fully catered barbecue-style menu
Soft bar service (beer, wine and cider)
    Complimentary Airshow Souvenir Program
The opportunity to meet visiting performers
Washroom Facilities for Executive Club Members

If you want to go the general admission route, there is box seating for an additional $10 available. Box seats offer your own chair and a slightly closer view of the action.

Hope that helps!

P.S. If I understand correctly, Thunderbird #7 will be in our neck of the woods on Jan. 16.

Very nice work on the new website! Good job!  Afro Afro

Is it possible to see the F-22 demo at CYXX? If we have some moisture there like before, it could be excellent for photo. Cool

No F-22 at Abby this year. We have the Thunderbirds instead. Won't let us have both.

Well... then what's the reason to choose Thunderbirds rather than the Raptor?  Tongue

OKay okay I know the Thunderbirds may attact more "paying passengers" but to me the Raptor is way more exciting. Looks like I need to travel south to see it again this year. Drool

Trust me, they were pushing to get both the F-22 and Thunderbirds. Applications to get the Thunderbirds at a show are mailed almost a year in advance. It's tough to take the risk of not asking the Thunderbirds, and count on Air Combat Command to give a Canadian show the F-22 demo over the other shows in the US that weekend. In that case we end up with neither... Undecided

Not sure why Fairchild AFB had to schedule their show the same weekend as Abbotsford considering how close by they are geographically. I love the Thunderbirds, F-16's all the way Afro

BTW. Website looks great, seems to have some Java issues in Firefox anyway.

Sorry I just returned from Luke and can't take anymore.  Wink Wink

I will stay at home in the show week to support one of my favourite shows - The Abbotsford's.  Smiley

Hey one and all;

Okay, so today I picked up some info on statics as they stand right now for the show. Keep in mind this is a preliminary list and with the show in August, I expect a lot more confirms to come our way...So far:

C-130H
F-16 X 2 (I believe these are the agressor Vipers from Alaska)
F-16 X 4 Colorado ANG
KC-10 (take special note Lee, Mark, Chris & Bill!!!!)
KC-135
MH-65C - Coast Guard - These guys are also planning on doing a demo for the show.

As usual, everything is dependant on operational commitments, serviceability, etc. so the list can change right up to airshow. Hope to have a bunch more static announcements in the weeks to come.
