I agree with Franz and Kevin - there's wisdom in "strategic" freebies.  Think of it as taking a client out to lunch - you're trying to build relationships that will pay off down the road.

Another thing to consider is that many airports spell out some kind of photography policy in their rules and regs that restricts commercial photography without advance consent of whatever agent of the airport is authorized to give it.  You could very well have been in violation of such a policy by attempting to charge them for something that they see you as having no right to charge them for.  Totally not something I'd point out to them, but worth looking into on your own so you are that much more familiar with the lay of the land.

"Sergeant, if you've seen my photos, you'd know I can't take pictures of any aircraft."

Guess, please take note of when this topic was started - over three years ago Wink. Of course the general issues of the topic still apply (actually, we had a similar discussion recently between some of the mods), but advice to Dave is a bit late Grin.

Yeah I did give them the photo's in the end, my friend has let go and the relationship with the FBO became cloudy. The office people were told not to give me any information. I would 90% of the time catch the aircraft because I just showed up at lunch when most military transits came in. I gave them prints for their office building and had a small scrap book I would fill so people waiting could scan through it.

But I haven't been over to the FBO in probably 2 yrs now.  Sad
