Hi All!

We will be using a new system for the airshows which compliments the new Fence Check 2.0 launch and it will have some interesting new features. If you have information about upcoming shows, please send it to me at "liza @ fencecheck . com"

Feel free to continue to post in the threads already started.

Thanks!

Liza, Roger,

You have done a great job in putting the new air show threads together, and I am looking forward to some great air shows in 2008.  I was wondering though how efficient it really may be to have these threads created for such a huge number of air shows, some of which will probably generate very little interest or comment over the year.

I suppose that it does prevent some of the chaos that can result from differnet people trying to start an air show thread.  But at this point it just seems overwhelming to sign in to the forum and see all these often obscure air shows with a "thread" created.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks for making these forums available to us.

Jim,

I can see how looking at the Airshow Preview section here in the forums one can get a little overwhelmed.  But there is a better way of weeding through the shows and finding the ones you might be interested in, and that is the Airshow DatabaseThere you can fnd the shows by location or team attending and we'll add a date function soon as well.

Cheers,
Roger

Hello All,

Using the airshow calendar or the database search feature (airshows tab at the top and the airshow database) may make shows of interest easier to find. Also, clicking on the "Airshow Database Page with Map" link in the first post of each show thread will give you a map of the show grounds via Google Maps. One can zoom in for a closer look.

If any of you know of an event not posted (or posted yet), please let me know. Send a PM or email (click on the envelope under my avatar) with the info.

Here's to a safe and memorable season...

Thanks!

Hey Liza,
Awesome job once again!  I've been pointing more and more performers to your listings and calendar - we don't know how you do it, but we're sure glad you do.   Grin

As everyone can see, we've been adding the 2011 events a little at a time. Hopefully, the adding of the shows this way won't be as overwhelming as they've been in past years. We're trying to not go beyond one year of the current date as to not cause any confusion by two shows with the same name listed in the upcoming events section.

Greetings,

Yes, the jet team schedules are out which means FC will have more shows added. I am on the road (here at ICAS at the Paris Hotel in Vegas!) and will be back by this weekend. Once home, I will hit it hard on getting the shows entered and performer schedules checked/updated. I understand the 2012 Blues' schedule wasn't quite ready yet and have heard it will be out either in a week or by the end of the month. Either way, it should be out soon.

PS - still working on recovering stuff from the server crash at the same time. Busy, busy, busy...  Cool

Some changes were implemented over the weekend.

1. The date discrepancies between the database, calendar, forum thread, database search results, and event page have been fixed.

2. Location (airport) has been added to the first post in each thread.

3. If the event has a Facebook page, an entry has been added. Seems some shows update Facebook long before the main site.

4. Once a show has passed, we had lost the info on the event page. Now, all the info stays. Example - Thunder Over Michigan 2011. One may access the past event pages like the example by clicking on the "Aerial Event Database Page with Google Map" link in the first post of each forum event thread.
