One of Bell Helicopters newest - the Bell 429.  They were filming some sort of video using this helicopter as it made several high speed passes across the Bell ramp as well as 360 degree hovering rotations and different angles for the camera.  They then went for a 20 minute or so flight in the Bell Practice area and returned.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to shoot some aircraft after the 7 inches of snowfall received at Alliance on Thursday.  We don't see snow much around here and we definately haven't had this much on the ground in a long time!

1.  Our usual spot by the ramp...I should have worn some boots.
2.  Golden Knights sitting on the ramp
3.  FedEx 3127 Heavy arrives from LAX

It's race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.  TMS is only about 3 miles from Alliance, and the races always bring in unusual visitors.
The FBO has over 40 planes on the ramp this morning...many belonging to NASCAR teams.

1. ExpressJet flight 1385 from Charlotte, NC on a short final to 16L.  ExpressJet planes have been going back and forth from Charlotte to AFW for a few days now.
2. Jack Roush's 727 arriving this morning.  This bird is still in the colors of the Miami Heat basketball team...its former owner/user.

Blue Skies,
Curt

Image 1. I was at AFW on Saturday and shot the visiting military stuff. I had never shot from the north end before and was pleased with the access. Normally I don't shoot civil, but this Airbus was irresistable. This was with 85mm, what a shock.

Image 2. When I got home, I was looking at my shots from the T-line and saw these airplanes in one of the backgrounds. Have any of you shot these or know what they are? They apprear to be some sort of military, a Britten-Norman perhaps? I wasn't able to make it back out on Sunday to check them out.

They have been there quite a while...I took these photos of them when they were on the east side ramp last year.

2 - FedEx 727 waiting on the FedEx ramp for the nightime flight

3 - FedEx Fokker F-27 also awaits some cargo
