I will be attending the airshow at Oceana and was curious if anyone has suggested settings for getting the night shots at "Beach Blast."  I know that we probably won't be having too many opportunities to go "trial and error," so I'm looking for suggestions on settings from those who have had some success.  I will probably be shooting wide with a Nikon D2Xs (perhaps with the 17-55mm 2.8 Nikkor.)  Thanks in advance!

Here's what worked for me in 2006 when shooting the aerial acts from a hotel balcony:

Canon 20D
100-400mm

F-14 shot at 7:40 PM
RAW - ISO 1600 - 250mm - f5.6 - 1/160 sec
Added one stop exposure in post processing - full frame resize

Black Dagger shot at 7:48 PM
RAW - ISO 3200 - 340mm - f5.6 - 1/15 sec
No post processing - full frame resize
