The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum

The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum is located om the north side of MCAS Miramar with an entrance to the museum right on Miramar road abut 1/2 mile west of the base's north gate. The website is This museum is the only USMC Museum dedicated only to Marine Corps Aviation. THis museum depends on donations for it's up keep. TO Donate go to the website.

I was there in May. Very nice collection and layout.
Easy access from off-base.

This TBM Avenger reciently went on permant display at the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum at MCAS Miramar, CA See also

Neat pics! I want to visit the museum in August when I come down.
BTW, what happend to the F4U-5N? I remember it was where the TBM was the last time i saw it

THey still have it, its at their temperary hanger on base. I'll ask next time I'M there ask whats going on with the F-4U-5
