Nice selection, Warpee...you really surveyed the static line way more than I did.  I think I was always so star-struck by the SR-71 that I usually positioned myself for it's display (but always checking out the statics in the morning).  I promise I'll upload some pics from the 1986 Air Fete, next week!

RAF Mildenhall Air Fete 1987...I have more from each Air Fete, but I consider these more unique.

Wow, I cant figure it out Mike...Your measurements shouldnt have loaded, but your pictures are smaller than mine...Kinda wish I could see some more detail, but you got a good selection of photos there yourself...

I figured I wouldn't upload correctly; I had to shrink the pictures (after scanning)  by cropping them a bit, to fall under the 300Kb limit.  Any suggestions on how to do better?

I put my pictures in Photobucket...Then "shrunk" them down to 640X480...That way you might only load one picture per frame, but plenty of detail for some of these hobbiests to model thier aircraft with...Id love to see that Canberra in a bigger pic size...Still, its good to see the pics though...

You know, this is the most polite website / msg board I've ever been on...A week goes by and NO ONE tells me to click on the small photo twice, to make it huge...Either that or Mickey's taken the piss out of me, for being a dumb redneck yank... Grin

WARPEE...I guess I didn't think to mention that (enlarging the pic by clicking on it).  I have another set of phots from the '86 Air Fete with some really good (read: lucky) photos of the SR's routine, but I can't find them!  If I ever do, I'll post them.   One of the shots I had enlarged to about 24" x 36" and framed back in '86; it shows the SR lifting off the runway with a BUFF and the Mildenhall church in the background.   I may scan/post a few archive photos from other airshows I've been to in the last 30 years.

My bad, Mike...I should write this stuff down, though...

I can confirm your RAF Marham Canberra and RDAF F-16B being at Air Fete 1986, though...I dug out an old photo album, and lo and behold...Unfortunately not on the group I saved in mypictures...BTW, which bird of the 55 SRW did you fly around on? Im assuming you've seen the book "By Any Means Necessary" by William Burrows? About the ferret flights from the 50s-00s? Interesting read...

I wish I had taken pictures of the UK kids in the campground...We might have found us a moderator here in his teens... Wink
